now: it’s show time!

Hi and Happy New Year to all!
Brrr, it’s freezing here in Milan!
How was the return to work? I hardly had time to put down the last slice of panettone (my mother packed me off with so much of the stuff that I didn’t get through it all until last week) before I was catapulted right into the heart of Fashion Week – men’s fashion week, mind you. Our fashion house as such isn’t involved, but thanks to a PR friend of mine, I managed to attend any event or two, such as the Gianfranco Ferré show in Via Pontaccio, featuring lanky guys with a smaller waist than mine showing off long maxi-coats right down to their ankles, worn over stoles or fur waistcoats of the same length…. Anyway, thanks to the same PR network, I also went to the Dsquared2 show, featuring the Tokyo Hotel vocalist, Bill Kaulitz, dressed in black leather trousers and hockey player’s gear on top covered with…. feathers. A dark angel come down from heaven… well, not exactly heaven, since he actually descended from a one-floor goods lift installed at the bottom of the catwalk. Great fun, except for just how extra-slim he is too.
It’s high time I got back in shape after the panettone marathon I indulged in over the festive season. Pilates? No, it’s not my style: I need to run around, jump and if at all possible, yell along to some music. For the moment I’m doing a bit of cat-lifting, which should be fairly effective, given Ellery’s rapidly expanding girth. I swear I didn’t give him any of that panettone, although I imagine he’d have enjoyed it, judging by the interest he showed in climbing into the boxes.
Well, a new year is upon us, and I’ve got lots of things to do:
- take up a sport that’ll get me back in shape before the women’s fashion shows
- find a beauty farm for Ellery
- find some new blogs to “socialise” on.
Fancy helping me out with any of the above?
A very chilly “ciao” from Milan
Emilie
